Baijnath temple is located in the district headquarter of Kangra town at a distance of just 18 Km from Palampur. Baijnath temple was built in 1204 A.D by two native merchants, Ahuka and Manyuka, who were doting devotees of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as ‘God of Healing’, and this temple has a great significance to all devotees.
The temple can be accessed easily once you reached Kangra, and the water of the temple is believed to be of medicinal properties in curing many illnesses. This temple is one among very few of its type where Lord Shiva and Demon king Raavan is worshipped in the same compound.
