Palampur Tea Gardens

Palampur town is also known as the Tea Capital of North India because of its beautiful Tea Gardens. These tea gardens can be captured in frames by photographers. The tea produced here i.e Kangra tea is of superior quality and mostly gets exported to foreign countries. The concept of tea was introduced by the Britishers here in the 19th century and since then the town is famous for the quality of tea it produces. You can also visit Palampur Co-operative Tea Factory Limited, which is located downhill from Palampur and can watch the complete manufacturing and commercial process of tea production. Visit this factory can be scheduled at any time between 10 AM to 5 PM without any entry fees.

Neugal Khad

This beautiful spot is famous among the family and children for picnics and nature lovers for its beauty. It is a water stream being fed from the melting snow which attracts tourists and family to it. Located at a distance of just 4 Km from the main town, this spot is also accompanied by another famous Saurabh vihar on its bank for spending some beautiful time. Nature lovers and photographers can find the best moments for them by having beautiful Himalayan ranges as the backdrop. There is a Neugel cafe maintained by the government to have some time with good snacks. There are no entry fees while it remains open and you can visit here anytime in the day as per your convenience.

Norbulingka Institute

As the hill station of Mcleodganj is widely popular among the Tibetan people because of the seat of the current chief lama. So, this area has a significant population of Tibetan people with their temples located in this area as well. This institute also acts as a preserver of culture and tradition for these people and the same knowledge is transferred to the next generation through study here. This institute is located in the hill station of Mcleodganj, and you can purchase textiles with beautiful Tibetan art printed over them from here. You can also participate in the workshops being conducted by the institute regularly to get deep exposure to the culture.

Toy Train

While accessing this beautiful town by Train, you will ride the UNESCO World Heritage site Toy Train. This train starts from Pathankot on regular basis and crosses many beautiful waterfalls and rivers before reaching the destination. Baijnath Temple

Baijnath temple is located in the district headquarter of Kangra town at a distance of just 18 Km from Palampur. Baijnath temple was built in 1204 A.D by two native merchants, Ahuka and Manyuka, who were doting devotees of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as ‘God of Healing’, and this temple has great significance to all devotees. The temple can be accessed easily once you reached Kangra, and the water of the temple is believed to be of medicinal properties in curing many illnesses. This temple is one among very few of its type where Lord Shiva and Demon king Raavan is worshipped in the same compound.

Tashi Jong Monastery

Monasteries acts like a temple and school for Buddhism and hence monasteries are regarded as the most sacred place in their culture. This art gallery is located at a distance of 15 Km from Palampur, this gallery houses beautiful and the original work of the famous artist, Shobha Singh.
